Alani The Leader: Her Campus

Her Campus Northwestern
The first publication Alani ever wrote for at Northwestern was this online magazine, written by college women, for college women. With this site, Alani has gotten to write about all her favorite things and has gotten the knack of pitching stories with this amazing group of women. She’s tried out many different verticals and beats, including being a (mostly) full-time television writer at one point. She’s been Social Media Director and is currently co-Campus Correspondents, Editor-in-Chief and President.
Her Campus National
At the time just a staff writer for her chapter of Her Campus, Alani was itching to do more with the publication that holds a special place in her heart. So she became a feature writer for Her Campus’s national stories. She pitched her own ideas and wrote longer, more in-depth stories for the site on a biweekly basis. Her favorite verticals to write for are Entertainment, Life, Health and Love. She’s dabbled in some Style as well, along with holding a beat for “American Horror Story” during the sixth season of “Roanoke.” In addition, she did weekly news shifts, posting for two hours on breaking news and current events.
Summer of 2016, Alani went to the Her Conference in New York City where she not only got to network with amazing women, but also meet equally amazing women, like Olympic Gold Medlaist Nastia Lukin.
Alani has accumulated 100s of bylines with HC NU and HC National
